With Vanille Carbone, perfumer Natalie Gracia-Cetto explores the depth of a black vanilla pod, blending three exceptional qualities of Madagascar Vanilla. 
 
The fragrance unfolds with the vibrant spice of pink peppercorn and black pepper. At its heart, the smoky elegance of incense meets the luminous allure of a patent leather accord. In the base, vanilla unveils its warm, sensual, and delectable facets, leaving an irresistible trail.

Sourced through the Givaudan Foundation, the black pepper used in Vanille Carbone is among the finest, originating from Madagascar —a terroir renowned for producing exceptional pepper. Harvested using traditional methods, this spicy, woody, and intensely aromatic ingredient undergoes a meticulous, fully manual process from picking to final extraction, preserving its rich complexity. 
 
Olibanum Oil from Somalia 
The sacred tears of Boswellia tree 
At the heart of Vanille Carbone, a smoky, resinous trail lingers on the skin, shaped by an exceptional ingredient: olibanum, also known as frankincense, the fragrant gift of the Boswellia tree. Harvested in the rugged landscapes of Somalia, this sacred resin has been revered for millennia, perfuming the air of ancient rituals and spiritual ceremonies. Its scent carries a mystical depth and warm , with subtle spicy and mineral facets that intertwine with vanilla’s enveloping richness. 
 
In Vanille Carbone, Olibanum Oil Somalia Orpur™ brings a delicate tension: a smoky note that balances the gourmand sensuality of vanilla. It deepens the fragrance, adding texture and contrast.

At its heart lies Vanilla Absolute Madagascar Orpur™, an upscale, certified Madagascar vanilla sourced directly from small producers through Givaudan’s responsible sourcing program. These farmers, guardians of ancestral know-how, cultivate each pod with meticulous care, ensuring exceptional quality and full traceability. With its leathery and animalic facets, this absolute captures the raw depth of vanilla, grounding the fragrance with a warm, sensual base. 
 
To enhance its complexity, Vanilla Tincture Madagascar Orpur™ adds a delicate gourmand touch. Obtained through an artisanal extraction process, it unveils the soft, natural essence of fresh vanilla beans, bringing a luminous and refined dimension to the scent. 
 
Finally, Vanilla CO2 Madagascar Orpur™ elevates the absolute to the top notes, adding a fresh, airy brightness that balances the richness of the base. This creates a dynamic and captivating contrast, revealing vanilla in all its nuances.

“The vision behind Vanille Carbone was to explore contrast coexisting in perfect harmony: matte and luminous, shadow and light. The fragrance plays on these oppositions, revealing a deep, textured vanilla, both rich and radiant. 
 
I wanted to highlight the beauty of noble raw materials, selecting only the finest ingredients to shape a scent with remarkable depth and complexity. To enhance the matte aspect, I emphasized vanilla’s powdery facets. To reveal its brilliance, I crafted a patent leather accord, where the depth of vanilla is balanced by the radiance of luminous notes. 
 
It is this meticulous attention to detail, this interplay of textures and contrasts, that gives Vanille Carbone its unique identity and tactile dimension.”

For the launch of its new Eau de Parfum, Vanille Carbone, Atelier Materi has partnered with French artist Anousté. Drawing inspiration from the fragrance, Anousté has created a unique carbon sculpture that reveal the unique beauty of the raw material.
